Yasi offers private lessons in person in the Montpelier area, as well as via Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime. Contact her for rates and schedule, or if you have questions!

Fiddle
Yasi teaches Irish fiddle for all levels, drawing on years of immersion in Vermont’s vibrant Irish music scene, and from her time at various music camps and events such as Northeast Heritage Music Camp, Acadia Trad School, the Northeast Tionól, and Maine Fiddle Camp. She’s been lucky to count among her music mentors Benedict Koehler and Hilari Farrington, and fiddlers Sarah Blair and Rob Ryan, as well as others too many to name over the years!
In addition to Irish music, Yasi also plays some Scottish and Cape Breton, Old Time, and Klezmer music, if students are interested in dipping their toes into those styles.

Dance
Yasi offers sean nós lessons for beginner and intermediate dancers. Though she first came to love Irish music through the fiddle, Yasi became captivated with the percussive tune interpretation of sean nós steps through a workshop in 2014. Yasi has been learning all the steps she can ever since, and has been dancing on floorboards and hearthstones around the state with The Zeichner Trio. She has studied with Jackie O’Riley, Rebecca McGowan, Kieran Jordan, and Nic Gareiss.
Sean nós, or “old style” Irish dance is a relaxed, low to the ground, improvisational style of percussive dance. It is considered one of the oldest Irish dance forms, originating in Connemara in Ireland. Dancers interpret the music in a relaxed and joyful way, interpreting the music with their feet!
